The oil & gas industry is one of the biggest moneymakers in the town, and new technologies have been implied to create better energy-efficient consumption of the non-renewable resources.Companies have been working to create new solutions for the oil and gas market for better efficiency. According to Forbes, there are six companies which have been dedicating their time and effort to create the best solutions. Here are the top new technologies from the companies today that have been introduced to the oil and gas industry.

Blue Gentoo- Intelligent Hydrate Platform

Hydrate Platform

This platform from Blue Gentoo is said to provide real-time management of gas hydrates while enabling the digital transformation of the oilfield. It assures the safety of the environment and reduces the operational cost for the production of hydrocarbons. It can help in maintaining and preserving the oil even in the cold offshore environments. Their aim is to help the oil producers keeping a safe infrastructure as well as creating low production and high recovery costs.

Immaterial – Metal-Organic Frameworks

Immaterial (IMM) is a start-up based company, founded in 2015 to commercialize Metal-Organic Frameworks(MOFs) related IP. The MOFs are a class of porous nanomaterials. These nanomaterials have high internal surface areas due to their rich chemical properties. The aim of IMM is to solve the problems of transportation of oil and gas. Today IMM is working on a large scale long term contracts with many companies.

Paragon Inspection – On-site low energy gauging (OLEG)

OLEG is used today to determine small bore tubing (SBT) with an efficient inspection system created by Paragon Inspection. The technology is meant to detect any hydrocarbon leak with a proper monitoring system.  The Hydrocarbon leaks can increase the leaks and cause a loss in millions. SBT assemblies provide the containment of such potentially hazardous plants. Around 20 per cent of the hydrocarbon leaks are related to SBT assemblies. As the SBT assemblies are complex to install, it faces a lot of failure due to carelessness and lack of proper inspection. The OLEG system is meant to provide a better monitoring system for the SBT systems, which can report any leakages and reduce the risk of any accidents.

Sensalytx – Q-DOS

The Q-DOS is developed to analyze downhole distributed fibre optic data, which contains multiple types of sensors. This sensor provides insight into the fixtures with advanced visualization. Since the previous optical sensing applications were not completely efficient of processing the data at a faster rate, the Q-DOS is an innovative move by Sensalytx. This software can address the issues which previously went unnoticed. It can help in creating branched solutions for optical fibres and provide better optimization and abandonment operations.
